Had a great day on my stretch of river in the fen.

This week I managed to fluke out five pike, or perhaps I should say Jacks, and didn’t lose any this time and that must be a first!

Well, one did come off but a quick recast had the fish turn and take the fly again. Must have been very hungry.

Despite the invasive Pennywort, there were pike hiding underneath it that occasionally shot out and grabbed the fly.

The river is very clear at the moment but that will all change once the rains arrive.
